Our concept

A hybrid shoe store that takes the high quality footwear from the Outdoor industry and the best known brands from the comfort shoe world and blend them together in a fun store where customers have a truly unique shopping experience? Remember when you used to buy shoes, someone measured your foot and cared if they fit. We want to revise the art of customer service in footwear retail.
 
Last summer after a couple of fly fishing trips, David said "Hey let's open a shoe store!" I thought he had lost his mind. David is a self confessed "Boot Nut" and has been studying footwear in the outdoor industry for years. After thinking it over and no other business ventures sounding as good, we started the process of writing a business plan. We love the Outdoor Industry and it was hard for me to leave it behind. The town of Harrisonburg already has a great Outdoor store, but no high quality shoe store. Our business plan kept evolving until The Sole Source was opened on December 16th, 2004.
 
Now David and I are doing something we feel passionate about everyday, helping customers find the right footwear, fit, and watching everyone walk out with a smile on their face.
